What to do with cloth diapers you no longer use!

Have cloth diapers you no longer use?

If we all used the same cloth diapers we started with, without ever buying new styles, prints or brands when we felt like it, then that would take all the fun out of cloth diapering.

Truth is, you can still save money with cloth diapers and you can still buy a lot of new cloth diapers, more than you actually need.  You just have to know what to do with the cloth diapers you no longer need or use.

So what can you do?

Sell them!
Gently used cloth diapers with minimal staining or better can often be re-sold or traded in at places like Cloth Diaper Outlet for store credit to use toward other cloth diapers and baby gear.  You can re-coup 50% or more of your initial investment which is awesome.  Even more reason to take good care of your diapers, they ARE an investment and can retain their value.

Trade them!
Using sites like DiaperSwappers.com you can search the various FSOT, For Sale or Trade, forums and often can find someone willing to send you their ABC for your XYZ.  This is not only fun but easy to do.  It helps put the fun back into cloth diapering and is a great solution for people who don't want to have to deal with the exchanging of funds, trading is fun, more laid back and a great way to get the new items or cloth diapers you need at no additional cost to you.

Donate them!
Organizations like Giving Diapers Giving Hope and The Rebecca Foundation bot accept good condition cloth diapers that they then lend out to families who cannot afford the initial investment in cloth diapers.  Pros:  It feels good to donate.  Cons:  Some diaper banks or lending organizations don't take diapers in need of repair.  The Rebecca Foundation does, so they're a good option if your donated diapers require a little refreshing.

Craigslist!
Via Craigslist you may be able to do all of the above.  You might find someone to trade with, someone to sell to or someone to donate your cloth diapers to, regardless of their condition.  Check your local area Craigslist and do a search for "cloth diapers" to see if there's much interest in your community.

These are just a few suggestions on how you can put your gently used or no longer being used cloth diapers to good use.

So tell us, have you done any of the above?  How did it work out?
