bumGenius AIO comparison: Freetime vs. Elemental

Recently, we compared the bumGenius 4.0, a pocket diaper, to the Freetime, an all-in-one (AIO) diaper. Did you know that bumGenius actually manufactures two AIO diapers? The Freetime is one and the other is the Elemental. Let's compare the differences!

Freetime

The Freetime is an all-in-one style diaper. The diaper has a PUL outer layer and two microfiber soakers attached, one at each end. The soakers are lined with suede cloth that goes against your baby's skin. This diaper fits from 8-35 pounds and has a snap down rise for size adjustment. This diaper comes in both hook and loop and snaps.

To use this diaper you just make sure the soakers are laying flat in the diaper.

Cost: $19.95

Elemental

The Elemental is also an all-in-one style diaper. This style was recently redesigned by Cotton Babies, the makers of bumGenius. The diaper has a PUL outer layer and and 6 layers of organic cotton attached. The soakers are sewn to each end, but allow for air flow in between the layers in the middle. This makes for a quicker dry time. This diaper fits from 8-35 pounds and has a snap down rise for size adjustment. This diaper is only available in snaps.

To use this diaper you just snap it onto your baby!

Cost: $24.95

So which do you choose? This is really going to be a personal preference! If you only want natural fibers, you'll want to go with the Elemental. If you need a stay dry layer, you'll want the Freetime. The Elemental is a bit more expensive. With both options, you can boost the absorbency by adding additional layers behind the sewn in soakers. The Elemental is the trimmest of the bumGenius line and is great at fitting pants over the diaper.

Have you tried both the Freetime and the newly redesigned Elemental? Which do you prefer?
