Speaking of Flats...You should try the #FlatsChallenge with DDL!

You may have missed it last year, or maybe you chickened out, well now's your chance!

Kim of Dirty Diaper Laundry is hosting the 2nd Annual Flats and Handwashing Challenge.  She encourages you to sign up, participate, blog about your week, and share with the world, that you don't have to own fancy washing machines and expensive modern cloth diapers to use cloth with success!  Anyone can use cloth and make it work, and no babies should be left in soiled diapers longer than necessary due to the fact that disposables and/or cloth diapers are unaffordable.

Here's a little more about the Challenge and links to how you can sign up!

"The Flats and Handwashing Challenge 2011 was an idea that came about after numerous articles referenced the practice of reusing disposable diapers.  Families with no money for new diapers were scraping out the solid contents or using a hair dryer to dry the diapers for reuse.  Not only is this unsanitary but it is also extremely dangerous.  The media neglected offering the suggestion that families use cloth diapers. Why?  Who knows.  {read the original article} It was my personal mission to educate others that, although not ideal, hand washing the inexpensive flat cloth diapers was an option to families who had no other way to diaper. No baby should have to suffer when there are ways to diaper for less than $50.00."

I can assure you, if you're nervous, Kim and the other participants will walk you through every step of the way and at the end...you might just enjoy using flats and handwashing cloth diapers!
