One Mom shares her tip on how to Re-Waterproof her Pocket Diapers!

Guest post by Elizabeth

After using our awesome cloth diapers for over two years we FINALLY started to have problems with leaking through the PUL.  It was incredibly frustrating and I was about ready to hang up the towel with all 24 diapers we owned.  Then I contacted  the company that makes the diapers we use and asked for their help.   I was reassured that this is a common problem with use and/or the water temperature (note to all of you CDing mamas - water temp should be no higher than 140*F).  They suggested that we use a product called Atsko Permanent Water Guard to re-waterproof our cloth diapers.  I was skeptical and not sure if it would work but hubby and I were on a tight budget preparing our HSA for the birth of Lady Bug so we gave it a chance.

I'm VERY happy with the results...

Since I was preggo at the time I didn't want to be the one spraying the water guard. So my hubby did it. Basically what you’ll want to do it turn the diapers inside out. Spray liberally on both sides of the diaper. Then let it fully dry, we allowed it to dry for 24 hours. Turn the diaper right side out and spray liberally again. We ended up doing this another time which required two bottles of spray. I'm a fan of the results and would recommend it to those of you who have pocket diapers that are leaking through the PUL.

The other problem we were having was Buggie being a really heavy wetter.  What else can I say?  He loves his H2O.  So on top of having done the waterproofing to the diapers I've also been using a diaper doublers which has greatly helped with that issue.

Hope this post helped any of you out there with leaking issues!!!  Happy diapering!!!

Trophy Tuesday: Knickernappies Custom Fit Pocket Diaper and a Giveaway! CLOSED

Sized Pocket Diapers?  A thing of the past?  I think not!

Sure, the one size cloth diaper is popular and makes a lot of sense to a lot of families but there will always be a place and purpose for sized pocket diapers like the Knickernappies Custom Fit Diaper.

It's easy to create a diaper that's supposed to fit babies from birth through potty training but the truth is that not all babies are shaped the same and one size diapers just don't fit or function the same on all of them.  Skinny legged babies might have trouble with gaping legs and leaks, chunky babies might outgrow the diaper too soon or you might find the fit is too tight.

What about the bulk factor?  OS diapers are the bulkiest on newborns and often new mothers find that those adorable clothes just won't fit over their new cloth diapers.  With a sized diaper, they would!

Knickernappies Custom Fit pocket diapers feature elastic at both the waist and back.  This keeps messes where they belong: in the diaper!  With hidden snaps and gentle leg elastic, Knickernappies are designed for your baby's comfort.

Side snaps give this diaper a very smooth fit across the tummy.  No more poofing or drooping!  In addition, side snaps are great for curious toddlers who have mastered aplix or front-snapping diapers.
