BumGenius 3.0 - what's the difference between all the different styles?

If you do a search for BumGenius 3.0 on our website, you get quite a few possibilities. The pictures all look similar, the names sound alike, but the prices are really different. What are the different styles and why do they have so many?

Good questions! As a retailer, I know it's confusing to have several products that sound and look the same. About once a month, someone orders the wrong diapers, so I thought I would clarify some of the differences.

The first one that you'll see on the list is the BumGenius 3.0 OneSize Pocket Diaper. This one is the most popular and the most well-known. It includes two inserts (newborn size and regular size) and adjusts to fit from 7-35 lbs. The rise snaps don't show up in this photo, but they are spread in rows across the belly of the diaper. This diaper only comes with velcro closures. It does have a pocket that the inserts must be inserted into for absorbancy. The lining is white suedecloth. It retails for $17.95 for one diaper or $203.40 for 12.

The next diaper you'll see on our list is the BumGenius 3.0 Deluxe All-in-One diaper. This one is the diaper that confuses many shoppers. It looks just like the OneSize Pocket Diaper, but it has a LOT of differences!
First difference: this is an all-in-one diaper. That means the absorbant layer is sewn into the diaper already. Inserts usually aren't needed for daytime use, though we do recommend them for nights. (And to further confuse the issue, this diaper does have a pocket so you can easily add an insert for extra absorbancy.) Second difference: this is a SIZED diaper. It comes in four sizes, Extra Small through Large. Retailing at $15.95 for one, this diaper comes at a nice price.

The final diaper that you'll find on our 3.0 list is the BumGenius 3.0 OneSize Organic All-in-One diaper. This diaper used to look identical to the other two, but the fine folks at BumGenius changed the closures to snaps. LOVE the snaps! The price is also a big difference. At $24.95 for one diaper, this is still a great deal when you consider the benefits of this diaper. One, it has undyed organic cotton inside. Many moms prefer only natural fabrics against their baby's skin, so this diaper is a perfect choice. Two, this diaper is an All-in-One, so the absorbant layer is sewn in. Wash, dry, and ready to wear again...no stuffing inserts! So simple for daycare, grandparents, or anyone changing the diapers. Three, this diaper is also one-size, fitting from about 7 lbs to about 35 lbs. There's no pocket on this diaper, so if you need extra absorbancy, simply lay in a hemp or cotton insert.

So there you have it. Three great diapers, each for use with different preferences.

Wish they'd made the snap option when our boys were smaller, we ended up with velcro (as I recall the only choice 3 or 4 years ago) and it's really gotten trashed going through 2 boys and a million washes. I will buy snaps next time around if we have another!

For thrashed velcro, BumGenius does offer a repair kit. If you sew or have someone who can sew (doesn't take much), then let me know and I can get a kit sent to you.

I also have a local mom who does the repairs for a small charge. I can put you in touch with her, too, if you need fresh velcro or even a full snap conversion.
